Rainforest Alliance Certified
Dreams Punta Cana Resort & Spa has achieved significant and measurable sustainability milestones and has received the Rainforest Alliance Certified™ mark. The requirements for certification are aligned with the Global Sustainable Tourism Criteria. This certification assures the commitment of Dreams Punta Cana to reduce the impact of its activities on the planet and local communities.
KKR Eco-Innovation Award Winner
Dreams Punta Cana Resort & Spa aims to eliminate the use of plastic straws on-site to reduce plastic pollution and greenhouse gas emissions associated with shipping plastic straws, as well as impacts on marine habitats. The KKR Eco-Innovation Award recognizes current projects by KKR's portfolio companies that provide innovative, environmentally beneficial solutions while creating business value.
We are turtle friendly!
Dreams Punta Cana shares a beach with sea turtles who hatch seasonally from July through December. We take part in efforts to protect the sea turtle population and watch as baby sea turtles take their first steps towards their home in the ocean.

Daycare Program
- Twice a month, employees can bring their children to work for the entire day

Reforestation Effort
- Our team works closely with a government representative of the zone in assigning different areas to be reforested
- Once every two months, our team of workers form to reforest selected areas
- At the property, the Explorer’s Club staff talk with children about the negative effect of deforestation on the planet and how they can contribute to preserve the Earth’s nature
Support to Altagracia, Village of Sugar Cane Workers
- Our staff organizes donations for food, clothing and commodities to citizens living in Altagracia
Sponsorship of Orphanage and Asylum
- Our staff organize donations of clothing and commodities for children in need, living in two local orphanages and asylums
Cleaning of Local Areas
- Including beaches, wetlands and protected Areas of “Lava Vacama” and “El Macao”
Training in Environmental Education
- Focus on creating awareness to the staff of environmental issues with conferences happening each month
Partnerships held with universities, in which professors bring specialists to discuss the impact of current city development and how more sustainable practices can happen
